If you’re searching for wild, rugged Scotland, look no further than Rannoch Moor. The moor covers an area of 20 square miles at a height of over 1000 feet. The terrain is mostly peat and bog overlying granite with lochs, islets and heather clad slopes. Rannoch Moor is crossed by a railway line and the A82 but access to the majority of the moor is on foot. The moor is a favourite of film directors and has featured in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Rob Roy and Trainspotting.
