The Speyside Way is one of Scotland’s prized four long-distance paths which stretches 135km from Buckie, on the Morayshire coast, to Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park. Walkers typically start at the northern end, walking south towards the mountains. There are spurs to Dufftown and Tomintoul too and plenty of diversions and attractions en route which include more than a few of Scotland’s famous whisky distilleries. The low-level way is marked by thistle-emblazoned waymarkers and there are several maps and guides available from the official website.
