This City of London church has some of the oldest features of any church in the area. The church was founded in 675, and an arch from that original building still remains. However, the building contains an even older piece of history, with the discovery in 1926 of a Roman pavement below the arch. This pavement is over 2000 years old. The current church is much newer, having been destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt in the late 1940s.
