Arthur Stanley Eddington lived in this house in Blackheath in the early 20th Century. Eddington was without a doubt one of the finest scientists of his age and was particularly associated with great leaps made forward in astrophysics. He is probably best remembered for his work on the Theory of Relativity and he helped to introduce many of Einstein’s ideas to a predominantly English speaking academic world.
