The original centre of the small village of Barnes close to the River Thames, Barnes Green has for centuries been one of the focal points of life in Barnes. Even as the community has grown significantly, this historic pond and green are still perfectly preserved much now as they have been since the community began. The area is a beautiful spot to sit and relax in tranquil surroundings and watch the world go by. The area attracts a good deal of rare wildlife and is a good place for bird watching.
