Built in the late 18th Century, Bedford Square is London’s only complete Georgian Square. The distinguished buildings that surround the beautifully maintained central garden were once inhabited by aristocracy and more recently book publishers. Today, they contain the offices of numerous companies. The architecture is noteworthy, with all the buildings being decorated on the exterior with Coade stone, a hard-wearing artificial stone which was made in Lambeth, and on the interior, exquisite moulded ceilings and large windows.
