Benjamin Franklin was one of the most prominent of the early American statesmen. Far more than a politician, Franklin was a writer, inventor and student of science, commended for his extensive investigations into electricity and its uses. Franklin worked as an agent to the British government during some of his early life and lived in this small house close to the River Thames before moving to France and ultimately back to Boston.
