The Bethlem Hospital was founded in 1247 and has enjoyed several homes across this area of South London. The idea behind this museum and heritage centre is to protect and preserve the rich and varied history that lies behind the institution. There are a great many interesting artefacts, documents and pictures on display that help to illustrate the way that the hospital made its mark on London and the medical profession.
