Blackheath War Memorial is a simple yet beautiful structure situated close to St. Margaret’s Church in the south London suburb. The monument was erected to give thanks to the many men of the borough who died and gave other great sacrifices when they marched off to war in the great conflicts of the 20th Century. The sacrifices of these people helped to defend the basic freedoms that today we expect in Britain.
