This fine sculpture was created in 1975 and purchased by a local company to be given to the borough. Well-known sculptor and painter David Wynne put the piece together. His works have worldwide appeal and he has had exhibitions in just about every major city where art matters. The piece is meant to represent the freedom of the River Thames that stands just opposite the site of the work and is admired by thousands passing by on the busy roads every day.
