Brockwell Park and Tulse Hill were once part of a large rural estate. This walled garden was its kitchen garden. JJ Sexby, the famous Chief Officer of Parks for London County Council, transformed it into the delightful secret garden it is today. Old brick walls shelter a formal plan of paths and informally planted flower beds. A good range of roses, perennials, spring bulbs and shrubs feature. Flowering highlights include delicate Hoop Petticoat Daffodils in spring and a tumbling purple wisteria in early summer.
