Brownhill Road War Memorial is a simple yet beautiful monument at the heart of this busy and vibrant area of Lewisham in south east London. The memorial was deliberately placed next to this major thoroughfare so that all who passed through the suburb would see it. It marks the great sacrifice that the people of the borough made in the great world wars of the 20th Century fighting and many dying for the liberties and freedoms we take for granted.
