This house was the home of the legendary author between 1837 and 1839, and is where Dickens completed some of his most famous works, including the Pickwick Papers and Oliver Twist. The house became a museum dedicated to Dickens’ life and works in 1925, and is one of the largest and most important collections associated with the author. The museum includes paintings, manuscripts, furniture and other items relating to the Dickens and his life.
