This "Gentlemen’s Cemetery" was founded in 1855, and it's crammed with grand monuments to Admirals, Governors, Lords of the Manor and Knights of the Realm. Among them, Sir Geoffrey Callender, first Director of the National Maritime Museum, Sir John Maryon-Wilson, Lord of the Manor of Hampstead, and Admiral Sir Watkin Pell, who served with Lord Nelson. Also of interest is the pair of 19th-century chapels in contrasting styles. The Church of England chapel is Early English in style, and the Roman Catholic Chapel, Decorated.
