Built between 1839 and 1841, this Victorian church sits on the site of an earlier church, parts of which can still be seen in the old churchyard. Also in the churchyard are the graves of three renowned astronomers, Edmond Hailey, Nathaniel Bliss and John Pond. Inside, the church is outstanding, with elaborate pre-Raphaelite murals and stained glass, many of them created by the famous Victorian firm of Clayton and Bell. The church is Grade II listed.
