Just before the Rise itself on Chamberlayne Road, there are two churches next door to each other. Sitting on the corner of Wrentham Avenue, the larger of the pair is the Catholic Church of the Transfiguration. The building was originally a Methodist church, which was purchased in 1977 and extended for a growing population of Catholics. The diminutive building attached is maintained by the Methodists, a nice of example of Christian communities living and worshipping side by side.
