One of South London’s largest green areas, the triangular common separates Battersea, Balham and Clapham. About 200 acres in size, the common is more often than not filled with runners, dog walkers and sports teams playing a variety of sports. In the summer months it plays host to numerous music festivals, circuses and fairs. Flanked by beautiful Georgian town houses and mature trees the area is a great place to relax with friends, a picnic and a bottle of wine on a summer’s day. It’s easiest accessed from Clapham Common tube station on the Northern Line.
