The Donmar Warehouse has been around since the 1960’s and its named is derived from the first names of Donald Albery and Margot Fonteyn, who bought the building and turned it into a rehearsal space for ballet. The building was built in the 1870’s and has been both a hop warehouse and a banana-ripening depot. The theatre has been redesigned over the last ten years, and host innovative touring company productions. Notable events include the British Premiere of Stephen Sondheim’s ASSASSINS.
