Dulwich Park is one of the last great Victorian parks built by the Metropolitan Board of Works. Its Chief Surveyor, J J Sexby, created the park's design from Charles Barry Junior's earlier plan, which he substantially altered. Attractions include the carriage drive, thatched shelters, rustic bridges, wildlife areas, herbaceous borders, a pavilion café and a boating lake and rivulet. The park was opened in 1890 and is now Grade II listed.
