Dwight D. Eisenhower is one of the 20th Century's most famous American leaders. He served as President between 1952 and 1960, overseeing the Korean War and desperately trying to alleviate tensions that existed within the USA and Russia. Before becoming President of America Eisenhower served as military commander of the allied forces in the Second World War after the Americans joined in 1941.
