Euston station, located to the north of central London, was built in 1837 for the London & Birmingham Railway. For many years it was London’s only north-bound railway exit. It saw several extensions through the years and was entirely rebuilt between 1961 and 1969. The two Portland stone lodges at the entrance, opened in 1870, still survive from the old station and are situated on Euston Road. It is connected to the London Undergound.
