The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is one of the most famous government departments. This grand old building has for centuries housed the ministers of state who have made decisions on the Empire, diplomacy and war that have changed the face of the globe. Many foreign visitors and British people visit the FCO to take advice on travel in Britain and across the world. The building is of significant architectural importance as it was designed by the legendary London based architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott.
