The Foundling Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of the Foundling Hospital, which was the first home for abandoned children in London. It also tells the story of the founder Thomas Coram, William Hogarth and George Handel. The museum is located in a modern building adjacent to the original hospital, which was demolished in 1926. The Foundling is also known for being the site of Britain’s first art gallery, which dates back as far as the mid 1700s.
