This was the home of Sigmund Freud – “the father of psychoanalysis” – after he fled Nazi-occupied Vienna in 1938. Freud’s former study has been preserved intact and there are many personal possessions on display, including family photographs, books, his collection of Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Oriental antiquities, and his famous “consulting couch”. The museum is also the site of educational programmes and conferences.
