Friary Court is located on the east side of St. James’s Palace which nestles among many other Royal attractions. Historically famous for being the location of where the eighteen year old Queen Victoria was first seen by her subjects, Friary Court still plays host to various royal events. In 2002, the St. James's Palace Detachment of The Queen's Guard turned out in Friary Court in respect of the Queen Mother’s funeral and on a daily basis, the Queen’s Guard mounts guard in the Court.
