George Robertson was an important statesman and politician in the United Kingdom, rising to the important post of Viceroy of India. This allowed him great political power, working closely with the British government, he helped to oversee a great deal of the transitions that took place on the sub-continent under British rule. He lived a good deal of his adult life in Britain in Chelsea.
