This beautiful bronze statue stands at the top of Trafalgar Square close to the National Gallery. It is of great historical significance as it was given to the United Kingdom by the state of Virginia to celebrate the budding 'special relationship' that was forming between the USA and the UK. That relationship is well illustrated by George Washington, whose family lived in Norfolk before moving to the new world.
