This exact recreation of Sir Francis Drake’s ship was built in 1973. The vessel is seaworthy and has clocked over 140,000 sea miles. The Tudor Galleon is now predominantly used as a living museum, with guided tours and exhibits. For those who want to experience more of Tudor life there are opportunities for schools and large groups to spend a night on the boat, learning skills and eating food from the period. The boat can also be hired out for children’s pirate themed parties.
