Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital is without doubt one of the most famous medical institutions in the world. Housed in a mixture of ancient and modern buildings the hospital opened to the public in 1852 and since then has been committed to providing specialist care to sick children. The hospital benefits from a large amount of donations and bequests, the most famous of which being the rights to J.M Barrie's novel Peter Pan which can be found in the museum at the hospital.
