Greenford was first referred to in a legal document dated AD 845. Horsenden Hill, the 14th Century Church of Holy Cross and Betham House (c. 1780) are the most prominent landmarks. Greenford was home to a pioneer speedway venue 1928–1930. It is the location of the London Motorcycle Museum. Rockware Avenue was named for the Rockware Glassworks.
