Krystyna Deuss, author of ‘Indian Costumes from Guatemala’, founded the Guatemalan Maya Centre in 1990. The idea behind the centre was to offer a small cultural and educational centre where visitors can learn more about the Maya area of Guatemala. There are topical films and lectures hosted at the centre as well as large and regular exhibitions of traditional costumes. The reference library houses over two thousand related texts.
