Hackney Town Hall is an historic grade II listed building in the heart of East London. Designed by Lanchester and Lodge and built during the 1930’s, the interior boasts grand Art Deco features. It is a great example of a Town Hall which includes lighting, gardens, walls, and trees as part of their overall design. It is still used as Hackney Councils main premises, and also often used for weddings. Next door to the Town Hall is another historic building, the Hackney Empire theatre.
