Hans Place is a quiet sheltered group of houses tucked away behind Harrod's, the famous old department store. Named after Hans Sloane, a great son of the area, the gardens are a popular attraction for both residents and visitors alike. They stand at the centre of the square and have been designed to create an oasis of calm within the square. The trees which line the edge of the gardens help you imagine you are in the countryside rather than a large city once you're within.
