Hanworth was once a village in the Staines district of Middlesex. In Saxon times it is recorded as belonging to Ulf. Queen Elizabeth lived there at various times in her youth. The church was enlarged and rebuilt in 1865. The writer Killigrew was born there. It is now well known for the Kempton Park Pump House and Museum of Steam.
