Harrods of Knightsbridge is the most famous shop in London if not the world. Since the great department store first opened its doors in 1849 it has been committed to excellence in service and giving its shoppers the finest treatment available. Growing from a tiny shop front in the new district of Knightsbridge employing just two people, the company grew at a colossal rate. In 1901 C.W. Stephens designed the ‘terracotta palace’ that shoppers see today, adorned with cherubs, swags and swirling Art Nouveau windows. Harrods is not just a shop; it is an experience that has attracted the great and the good for over 150 years.
