Facing Theatre Royal Haymerket is Her Majesty’s Theatre. The Theatre changes its name to His Majesty’s Theatre or Her Majesty’s Theatre depending on who is on the British Throne. The current theatre is actually the fourth to occupy the site, and like the Savory Theatre the design was made by the architect C.J Phipps. This current building was first opened in 28 april 1897 and has a capacity of 1,210 seats. Renovations took place of the famous dome and exterior in 1992 and in the interior in 1994.
