Highbury War Memorial is one of the central focuses of the area around Highbury and Islington Station at the historic centre of the borough. The simple but beautiful memorial serves as a celebration of the bravery of the many who went to fight in the two world wars and as a commemoration of those who lost their lives defending freedom, liberty and democracy. The statue stands on the edge of Highbury Place.
