Highbury’s history is long-reaching. When Highbury House was constructed in 1781, Roman tiles were found. Highbury Barn was the site of the aeronaut Charles Green's balloon ascent in 1854. Highbury Clock, presented in 1897, celebrated the 60th anniversary of the reign of Queen Victoria. Famous residents include: Clive Anderson, Nick Hornby, Jimmy Carr, Ainsley Harriott and Leona Lewis.
