The construction of this beautiful church began in 1854 and it was consecrated into the diocese of Winchester in 1855. The building is particularly noteworthy because of its magnificent stained glass window collection. The majority of these windows were donated and designed by parishioners in the mid nineteenth century and have remained in good condition. The fine building was overhauled in the early 1970s when it was discovered that major repairs were required to the roof. It is still a well-used parish church in the heart of Tooting.
