The House of Time Garden is a popular place for people to rest whilst visiting the many attractions that the Royal Greenwich Observatory and Greenwich Park has to offer. The garden is a formal affair planted 1884. It is so named because it commemorates the Meridian Conference of the same year held in Washington D.C. When it was finally and officially decided that Greenwich Meantime Would be used as the basis for all time zones around the world, effectively standardising time forever.
