This beautiful monument stands outside Mount Clare House at one of the higher points in Roehampton. It is dedicated to Hugh Collins Smith and his family who were long term residents of the grand manor house whilst it was still being used as a dwelling. The family have a long and illustrious history in the area and area remembered as being some of the earliest philanthropists in Roehampton, helping the common people with their day to day lives.
