This fine statue stands on the edge of Islington Green at the intersection with Upper Street close to the centre of the suburb. The reason this position has been chosen is largely because it is close to the site where the New River came from the ground. The New River was an ambitious project that Myddelton headed which brought fresh water from Hertfordshire to 17th Century London for the very first time.
