The memorial in Bishop's Park is a reminder that causes across the world don't only affect the local participants.
Many famous people travelled to fight Franco in the Spanish Civil War some of whom were British and while small, the International Brigade Memorial is a worthy feature of rememberance. I have become used to walking past it each time and thinking about Picasso for some weird reason.
