Jane Austen is one of the best known names in English literature, and although she only lived in this house for a relatively short period of time it acted as an inspiration to her during one of her most prolific periods of writing. Famous for novels such as Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice and Emma, Austen's works are still just as popular today as when she wrote them.
