John Adams was the second President of the United States of America, and although perhaps not quite as well known as his predecessor George Washington, he was just as important, consolidating the USA’s position in the world, both militarily and politically. He spent a great deal of his early life in Europe serving as a diplomat and had a house here in Grovesnor Square, close to where the American Embassy now stands.
