John Nicholson was a great British Army officer, serving as part of the East India Company. Born in Ireland, he made England his home but spent a lot of time away from London on tours of duty, involved in Campaigns, especially in the Indian sub-continent. He was instrumental in the settlement of the north-western territories of India and was heavily involved in the Indian Mutiny.
