It was from the window of this fine old Kensington home that Joseph Hansom observed the streets of London. A great architect, Hansom will be best remembered for the street going invention that changed the face of London forever, the Hansom Cab. This unique vehicle was the first mass produced 'safety cab' that allowed people to travel in safety and comfort around the streets of London and it said that the design inspired the modern 'black taxi'.
