Kennington Oval is the original oval in Kennington that which the famous old cricket ground nearby was name after. This oval stands at the centre of a major road intersection and has for centuries been one of the defining crossroads of south London. Historically it was a trading point where merchants who were travelling out of the capital towards the south coast would exchange goods. Today it is a monument to a bygone age, still enjoyed by many as a place to sit and watch the world go by.
