Life, I discovered, in Kingston-upon-Thames has always been and continues to revolve around the river. My wife, however, disputes this as she navigated her way around nearly 500 different shops and boutiques with my credit cards. I watched the river whilst she shopped but we both enjoyed a delicious meal in a riverside restaurant at the end of a great day out.
