Lewisham War Memorial is prominently placed on the main thoroughfare through the suburb close to the hospital. The simple yet beautifully crafted monument stands as a lasting reminder of the great debt that the people of Lewisham owe to those men and women who made such great sacrifices during the wars of the 20th Century. Many men went off to war from the borough never to return and these fallen heroes are commemorated and celebrated n this monument.
